We'd like to invite Dawlish Museum Members to a performance of our new show (based on our recent explorations and mis-guided walks) about the usefulness of everything –
'Rescued From The History Hut'.
On one of our recent travels, we came across a shed of treasures - an indiscriminate collection of curios, from Burmese temple carvings to Chinese Takeaway menus, fading but emotional letters to dance cards. All threatened by the encroaching ivy that snakes through its wooden planks. We have turned this Hut and its topsy-turvy conservation into the shape of a new piece of theatre and we'd like you to visit our History Hut: a place where people find it hard to throw anything away, where it’s always a fight to hold onto memories, from where sometimes you have to escape! We’d like to open up our History Hut and show you our collection of stories, impressions and adventures gathered and conserved while walking and exploring in South Devon.
Best wishes,
Katie Etheridge, Anoushka Athique and Phil Smith (The Mobile Machinoeki)
