May I first apologise for being a grockle! Could anyone please advise me on the best park to stay on in dawlish please? We are a couple with a young child. I have stayed in dawlish many times but usually in the B&Bs. Now we need somewhere with facilities to entertain our offspring. Thanks in advance

For a family I would highly recommend Cofton Holiday Park (but you would need transport to get into Dawlish every day as it's on the way to Starcross!) It's got 3 children's play areas, fantastic clean swimming pools an on-site shop and an on-site pub. It's set in lovely grounds- ideal for getting out and about. There is also Lady's Mile which is within walking distance of the town centre but I haven't stayed there personally so don't know what facilities they offer!

You could try Dawlish sands holiday park or thw welcome holiday park also try golden sands ,i think these offer kiddie entertainment and or kiddie clubs with good indoor pools [should fingers crossed it doesnt the weather turn nasty ] I think they are fairly priced and all are based a ten minute walk from Dawlish Warren beach. These all have their own website. Hope one of these are suitable for you

We have stayed at 4 holiday parks in Dawlish. Dawlish Sands was our favourite until recently but we have just stayed at Ladys Mile which was very nice, much more spread out, good play area, indoor and outdoor pool but they have visiting entertainment as opposed to the resident team at Dawlish Sands. We have also stayed at Golden Sands which is next to Ladys Mile and inland where Dawlish Sands and Welcome are on the main road nearer to the sea. If you need any more info feel free to contact me, Jill

Well, we have just returned after a week spent at the Dawlish Welcome park. So here's a brief upto date summary for others thinking of going there based on our holiday:
Location is the best. Very close to the beach and its facilities and close by for some lovely meals at the Mount Pleasant Inn.
The clubhouse in the evening was ok but i think the entertainment was a bit basic (normally seems to be better when touring acts come in), but alright if you like bingo each night. My other main disappointment with the club (which I assume will change soon) was how smokey it was there, bearing in mind the amount of children there was.
We has a mid to upper range caravan which, although clean, was more basic than some sites we have stayed on before.
Overall, I would recommend this park, especially if the weather is decent.
(A couple of great excursions we enjoyed were Crealy Park and Paignton Zoo, both not too far away).
