Two schools are celebrating after being crowned as the best of their kind in the Westcountry.

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg named Dawlish Community College as the best secondary school in the region and Widey Court Primary School in Plymouth as the best primary school.

Both schools received a letter of congratulations from Mr Clegg following their accolades in the 2013 Pupil Premium Awards.

Nick Clegg told them: "This is a wonderful testimony to the excellent work that you and your staff have been doing to boost the attainment of disadvantaged pupils through the use of the Pupil Premium."
