Thats all well and good, but we never find out who is responsible and if they ever get sacked for incompetence. This is not the first time road traffic orders have not been applied for in the region, but motorists have been victimised.
If you get a parking ticket, it's ALWAYS worth asking the police/council to provide a copy of it-they have to provide it! If the police haven't retained a copy they should request it from the local council who have made it - if they can't give you a copy they can't enforce it! Speaking from experience as I use to write them and on occasion 'find' them for the police, any older than 10 years old were pretty much lost to the filing fairies and especially if I looked for them ;)
Even if they do provide it, check the details, notorious that the markings don't get put down as stated in the traffic regulation orders
