As the goverment have now cleared the way for the construction of Hincley C power station, could someone justify why EDF energy a French owned company are being allowed to construct and operate the site.
Do British companies not have the skills and technical knowledge to build and operate this plant.
Unless the site and the power it generates is 100% British owned and under national control then any benifits from its cheaper generating costs will not be passed onto its British customers, and future profits will just be sent over to France.
In addition EDFs track record for delivering similar projects in other EU countries on time and within budget is not great.
I for one am getting a bit sick of foriegn companies running our public utility network and holding the country and its consumers to ransome, for energy products.
