Dawlish Discussion

There is a bill presently going through parliament called The Welfare Benefits Uprating Bill. Its aim is to restrict the uprating of welfare benefits to 1% per year for the next 3 years irrespective of the rate of inflation. (Up until now increases in welfare benefits have been based on the Consumer Price Index).

Here is an extract from the DWP's own assessment of the impact this bill will have. 

"It is estimated that around 30% of all households will be affected. The majority of working-age households in receipt of state support will be affected by this policy, with an average change of around -£3 a week compared to the CPI rating.

Household towards the bottom of the income distribution are more likely to be affected  and have slightly higher average change because they are more likely to receive the affected benefits".   

Two years to go to the new Government of no cuts and 'spend spend' that should keep everyone happy ...remember just the way Gordon Brown did it. 

The point has been made clearly by all the various posts, web links..bedroom tax etc, whatever the current Government is doing is wrong..

Is it time to discuss on here Dawlish subjects and not keep on ranting politics??.

Do you seriously believe that people in Dawlish are immune from these welfare cuts?

Of course they're not!

Which is why the welfare cuts are a 'Dawlish subject' and is precisely why I post the info that I do. 

I think what wondering is saying is that the same subject is being posted on separate threads and it feels like it's taking over.  I may have a view on the "bedroom tax" and other welfare cuts but constant links with no context is offputting. 

If wondering is so concerned maybe he could post a Dawlish subject thats if there is one
