Can I rant a bit? We rarely went to pubs as we didn't feel there was anywhere where we could go and relax with our youngest and feel she'd be safe while we were enjoying a few drinks with friends, UNTIL NOW... We knew of a few people trying to turnaround Dawlish Community Social Club (Sandy Lane) so we gave it a try a few months ago and have found a little gem that Dawlish residents should now be proud of.

Large sofas to sit and relax in while watching television or reading a book from the bookcase, quiz nights that cause many laughs and enjoyment regardless of how brainy you are, disco nights for the little ones while the parents can relax, themed food nights, a pint of coke for £1, kids drinks for 30p.... So why aren't more of us going there? this isn't the Social club of old, this is Dawlish Community Social Club of the new, relaxed, trouble free, safe and above all ran for the benefit of the community, so come on everyone in Dawlish, if like us you don't get out much or if you'd like somewhere safer for the kids, or even a change, then come and try it. A warm welcome awaits you and you'll even save on your wallet......and before anyone asks....I have nothing to do with this place.... just feel it is a shame it is not supported as well as it should be..... Rant over!

It's probably not used because people aren't aware of it.  Advertising on facebook doesn't catch everyone.  Perhaps some adverts in the local paper, leaflets at the schools, up at the leisure centre?  I think a lot of people still think the football club as it was is shut down.

Membership is £2 or £5 for family, and no you do not have to have an interest in Football
