Devon towns and villages are to get about £60,000 to prevent flooding.

The county council has pinpointed weaknesses after storms led to widespread problems last summer.

Plans include £8,000 on new debris grills at Purze Brook, Axminster, £10,000 to divert floods at Sandygate, Kingsteignton and £10,000 on new sluice gates at Dawlish Water.
