Dawlish Discussion
what shop does dawlish need
a non for profit betting shop !
Another cafe / tea room
An Asda
On a serious note a builders merchant that charges the same prices as those in Exeter
A town re-generation agency would be great.
Dont waste your money, look somewhere else
Monkey.do - I wouldn't open anything based in a shop at the moment. If you want to start a business do something that doesn't involve huge start-up costs. Do something original, or what you know best.
To be honest though, if you're asking others what to do then you're already in trouble!
I have looked into a coffe trike that i can take anywhere, but have been blocked by all local councils!! hence why i am looking at a shop, i have a few ideas but they would all work better in bigger towns, and my budget will not streach that far, hence this is the reason i am asking what local people would like to see in there town.
I always understood that Bitz & Bobz was a popular & well-used shop, providing a good variety of products at reasonable prices, so I was surprised when it shut. I suspect that the overheads are just too great in the current economic market so perhaps the council/landlords need to think again about the rents & business rates. Surely it is better to have premises occupied & bringing in some money rather than standing empty & deteriorating.
If you have anything to sell ..sell it online, no business rates, no people making nasty comments in the shop. If you really want a shop food is best.
