Does the Dawlish Gazette investigate any of the reports that are fed to it by local councils, the police, etc.? Indeed, is it any more than a local notice board in which nothing can be trusted but the date?
It would not be a problem, were it not for people believing what they read in the paper. It appears that some people still do.

There is a definate bias toward printing anything fed to them by Dawlish Councillors, and anything said against the said councillors is certainly never followed up or reported. What appears in the paper is usually a week out of date the gossip is far better on the so called EoD
I am thinking of two recent examples that have irritated me. I was in a manically cynical mood yesterday and, as I don't generally believe anything simply because it is in the media, perhaps it was unnecessary and pointless to single out the Gazette.
The immediate trigger was the post "One of the First Carbon Neutral Campsites in South West."

I have been quoted several times in the Gazette......without ever talking to a reporter!
Agree with you totally about not believing things just because they are in the media (others do though). I was just curious to know what you had in mind specifically.

I drove past Starcross earlier in the week and saw police talking to travellers in the car park, there was rubbish everywhere.
I see the clean up bill for the Teignmouth car park could reach £2,000, also what about the lost revenue in parking fees? or do they pay to park their vehicle?
I haven't seen the car park but I would have thought that £2000 could pay for a lot of cleaning up.
