Been told that the larger Co-op store in T'mouth will be closing this weekend. All staff made redundant. Wilkinson's will be moving in.

Anyone know if this is true?    

Still appearing on the Co-op website as open for business

I was led to believe the site was being demolished and cleared for new development. The information source is usually reliable, but no time scale was given.

I was told, but I don't know how reliable this is, that the site would become a multi-storey car park. There won't be any necessity for it if they get rid of more shops as no-one will want to go there.

Sounds like a lot of rumours then (for the moment..........)

It is rumours, 6mnths before its closes and nobody knows what is happening to it yet

So are you saying that in 6 months time it will deffo be closing?

Talked to a worker there last night and he told me, it was just the usual rumour mill at work. He said it has and expects to continue with a large revenue and is staying open regardless

I wonder if the Co-op will be quite so confident about revenues once Morrisons has been open for a few months.
