Just in case anyone was thinking of taking a walk or cycle ride along Secmaton Lane today.
Don't!
You won't be able to get through.
The part of the lane that is dedicated to cyclists and pedestrians is flooded due to water pouring of the field(s) which used to produce corn but which are now having houses built on them.
And they say that building houses does not add to flood risk. Just more examples of the builders total lack of care for the envoiroment. I thought the site design included a large soke away to stop this happening.
When the lane was open to motor vehicles it was often flooded and i have had to reverse out many times as it was to deep to get through its always been a problem it may be the drain is full of leaves etc
Just been down there again - could get through this time although the area was still very wet and there were some puddles about.
There were a couple of site workers working where yesterday's flood had been so I asked them what had caused it. From what I can gather from their reply, they (the construction workers) had come across a load of water further up on the site yesterday that they weren't expecting to be there so had tried to channel it out. But it overflowed the channel and ended up in the lane.
