The clocks go back an hour tonight. I thought there was talk some time ago about not changing, can anyone remember the reason why we're still altering our clocks?

If we forget about the war then I think the reason always mooted is that having the extra hour of light in the mornings is more likely to prevent accidents, especially for children going to school

Don't forget, that we are now on GMT, the proper time fot this country.
When BST starts, the time that sunrise happens, there is no need to advance the clocks 1 hour for the prevention of accidents, as it is much lighter then in the morning and afternoon, so theoretically, there should be no need for BST, not in this day and age.
Besides, 99% of the 'little darlings' jump into mummys huge 4x4 as they cannot walk the 100 metres to school. LOL.
