Well be with you all the way - stoking up the fire for a late session on the computer. Good luck - wishing you decent weather. Have also posted on your other bridge replacement site.
Cheers, glad for the company ;-)
New "Rusty" not long arrived by low loader - just updated pics. Rumours can now be confirmed - its 'a clone' !
Old Rusty all in place, and now in the process of being "glued together". Pics updated
Uploading video to YouTube now of full installation, but given the transfer speed it looks like it will take about 30 minutes (roll on 4G service ;-)
Anyone else out there still awake?
Great job Tallyrand - you deserve a 'gong' from the town council in recognition of outstanding sleeplessness in recording a piece of their history - the video went particulary well. Well done, hopefully you are having some deserved sleep before turning your attention back to- a full English !
cheers @frederick, appreciate the commens - have just updated pics
Pic of new bridge in sunlight (remember sunlight? lol) along with some quick comparison pics of "Old Rusty"
So, Old Rusty has been replaced. Does anyone know of plans for other refurbishment of the train station? Lick of paint, updating of the stair coverings either end of the bridge etc?
Its was initially reported as a 'Millon Pound' station refurbishment scheme. So now the question is - How much money is left and what do they propose to spend it on ? - Lets hope its a spot of paint !
Not sure about the station, but a wander around town yesterday and I noticed some other upgrades going on - 2 new directional / info signs have appeared and one of the groynes being upgraded
A new freshly painted station ( IKB heritage ) cafe overlooking the sea with hanging baskets and access from the prom would be an appropriate reposte by Dawlish to Ilfacombes pregnant woman.
