The Londis shop at the Exeter Road has a closing down sale.

The auction rooms have also stopped trading :-( 

Bitz and Bobz in the Strand didn't last long either. 3 months max I believe.

It's a shame the people who took over Bitz and Bobz couldn't afford to stay. They still have their shop in Teignmouth, and the proprietor told me he spent part of the week in Dawlish and part in Teignmouth and while in Teignmouth he still served a lot of Dawlish people, some of which had said to him, can't wait till you come to Dawlish!

Marine Stores on Exeter Road isn't closing - just going to be under new ownership.

That's what i thought. They had a closing down sale sign in their window selling all frozen goods half price, all wines £4 per bottle plus many more offers.

Bitz and Bobz was a great little store i shopped there many times it was great for cleaning products ect. I leave the town for a couple of months and then stores start shutting down, whats going on ?

End of Summer ..start of empty streets, just locals and few people around to buy...you have to be crazy or rich to pay the rates and business rates ..I can see no reason now why anyone would want a shop...but do give it a go!
