from DCC's website:

"Another outstanding year of exam success at Dawlish Community College

For the third year in a row Dawlish Community College have achieved their best ever set of GCSE results with some big improvements on the excellent grades achieved last year.

This is particularly pleasing given that the national picture is showing that results across England have decreased.

The headline 5 A*-C rate of over 98% is a 27% increase on last year's figure and shows the College's absolute commitment to getting the very best results for every single individual student regardless of ability. This compares very favourably with the national A*-C rate of 69.4%.

Our 5 A*-C rate which includes A* - C grades in English and Mathematics has also reached a new record high of 66% which is a 10% increase on last year and a massive 26% increase from results in 2009. This easily beats our target of 62% which places the College well into the top 25% of schools nationally.

Over half of the year group achieved at least one A or A* grade with almost a quarter of students achieving 3 or more A* and A grades or equivalent which is also a big increase on last year.

Remarkably 28 students achieved 5 or more A* and A grades or equivalents with 9 students achieving 8 or more A* and A grades which illustrates that the College is more than capable of stretching and challenging even the most able students."
