What sort of rice?  Medium Grain (bog standard), Long Grain (such as basmati), Short Grain (such as arborio for Risotto), Jasmine (Thai), Brown or Wild?

For plain rice, using a rice steamer (e.g. Jamie At Home has a great one in its catalogue), is a verrrrry simple way to make the perfect rice time after time. :-)

Bloomin 'eck.

 I suppose mean plain long grain rice. Preferably without buying an overpriced tv chef  (nice though he is)  branded gadget.

@Philip

Have posted the promised mackerel recipes at

https://www.dawlish.com/article/details/116

And a perfect rice every time recipe (with no need for fancy overpriced gadgets) previously posted at https://www.dawlish.com/article/details/86

Not sure if those links will work (you may need to copy & paste them) as I am currently on my iPad on Plymouth Hoe!

But here is a promise for you, if you still don't get perfect rice each time with the above recipe, I will personally come & show you! :-)

Kia Ora & Bon appetit

Hi Chef,

When cooking rice

Long grain I soak overnight

Basmati soak for about an hour

Rissotto for 20 mins

Wild rice i don't soak at all, as I like the crunchy nutty taste

Is it possible to buy wild rice at a reasonable price? as this is my preferred option.
