AN unnanounced Ofsted inspection has given Dawlish Leisure Centre’s childcare service a ‘good’ rating in 16 out of 17 categories, with a special ‘outstanding’ rating given for its partnership work.
In July the leisure centre welcomed a surprise Ofsted inspection, as members came to rate the centre’s holiday play schemes for young children. The centre has been working hard to achieve good grades with the help of the Childcare Team led by staff member Karen Bush. Since 2007 the leisure centres grades have been improving, taking its rating from a ‘special supervision’ to a ‘good’ overall grade.
