This is the site just starting to be built to the side and back of Gatehouse school more or less opposite Gatehouse Farm. It backs onto the presently being built Strongvox Swan's Rise development.

It seems that only 12% of the Bovis 251 dwellings due to be built at Secmaton Lane will now be 'affordable'. 

Of that 12%, 50% is scheduled to be for affordable rent and 50% for intermediate housing.

I know no more than this (like I don't know how many bedrooms per dwelling, disabled access provision and what % will be flats and what % houses etc). 

Maybe it's related to the fact that there were only 10 applications for the affordable homes (i.e shared ownership) on the 'Secmaton Rise' development? 

By the way, 'Secmaton Rise' wasn't a typo. 

All to do with government grant being cut apparently. Which does of course make me wonder if the TDC policy of 30% affordable for these larger developments is now in actuality feasible (if ever indeed it was) or a pie in the sky wish.  

Just curious to know how you know how many applications there were for the shared ownership at Swan's Rise/Secmaton Rise. Care to share?  

How do I know? By asking the right questions to the right people. 

In which case perhaps you could tell us how many, in total, shared ownership properties there are (will be?) on the Swan's Rise site? I mean, if the total was/is 10 then they've all been snapped up haven't they? Alternatively, if there are any going spare then perhaps there are those who would like to know that so they can make enquiries of the appropriate people. Any suggestions as to who they should contact?

No, the full allocation has definitely not been taken - Sovereign Living are the people to contact re. shared ownership at Secmaton Rise.

As I remember it - there is a 25% affordable provision at the Swan's Rise/Secmaton Rise development.

The development comprises 124 dwellings. Therefore 31 of 'em should fall into the affordable category.

Unless things have changed since March when I made some enquiries as to how the % affordable would be broken down, approximately 50% of the 31 should be for shared ownership (see my post above for the link to find out more) and 50% for affordable rent. I think that if you are interested in the affordable rent properties you will need to register your interest with Devon Home Choice via TDC's Housing Department.      

The maths is correct. The Strongvox site plan shows a total of 30 affordable homes (may be 31 if I miscounted), whilst Sovereign Living's website is showing 5 shared ownership homes still available (there must have been 15 originally available, as 10 have been snapped up).
