Can anybody work out the following, as NO money has been paid yet. This para has been pasted from the letter received from TDC

I saw a trailer for sale reasonable price,

I to this day do not understand what happened (but it's a good trailer)

User 4549 you could send them a copy of your receipt and a letter demanding the immediate repayment of your overpayment see what that throughs up.
Andysport, Nothing has been paid yet. and there are three of them slightly different in amounts.
Yes i had realised you hadn't paid, I was making an attempt at being funny (didn't work)
But for a laugh you could try asking for the non existant overpayment to be returned.
They'll probably give it to you

Andysport, I guess I am a bit slow, brain cells dropping dead daily.
My concern is these people are supposed to be professional and are taking money from the public for unlawful parking which if they are correct is ok. But how many other mistakes are they making and being misssed.
I agree unproffessionalism within the civil servant arena has always been common place, and it costs the tax payer hugely the only upside to this is that 58% of the working population are civil servants so effectively they are paying for their own mistakes. (thats quite funny)
Wriggler, I know its an error. You state "are not produced manually" are you saying they -the figures are automatically added to the letter, thats ridiculous. You also state " or read by a person, totally unrealistic to do that".
That does not make any sense either, as you will see there are two of them.
I could write and ask them for a refund of £7 on the first one and £32 on the second even though I have paid nothing, now thats unrealistic.
How many other people have received these automatic demands!!!!!!!!!!

You are really making a mountain out of a molehill and totally confusing yourself.

I dont think its a case of not being able to understand, its the incompetance of our civil servants within the council, if they can cock this up how many more mistakes do they make? and to what cost us the taxpayer!!!

For someone to think that computer systems don't automatically create letters, well that person would only be showing themselves up for being out of touch with the modern world.
Mistakes happen, e.g. twice parking illegally and twice forgetting to pay the fine. Easily done, to be fair.
How the computer has made this mistake is best answered by whoever sent the final demand.
Ok, if we are going to be serious about this ticket lets start at the begining,
Where were you parked as on street parking (not in a bay) is only enforceable by local authority if they have adopted civil enforcement powers, I am unable to recognise TDC as an adopted authority.
Firstly establish whether your parking contravention is a civil matter or police enforcement matter, Local authority will not consult with you, so you will need to attend court, merely by stating you are questioning their authority to issue will (should) result in you paying the original figure £50
As a note it is illegal to park on any road, highway etc in the uk 1908 law and its never been changed, though this is only enforceable by police as obstruction.

Devon CC are the enforcing authority but TDC employ the CEO's and enforce the Teignbridge area as acting agents for DCC, they (CEO's) also enforce TDC's off street car parks, the Police only enforce it you are parked dangerously somewhere on the highway.
PCN Issued. if after 28 days you have not appealed TDC issue NTO (Notice to owner) if you then appeal and that is rejected you have the opportunity to go before an Adjudicator either face to face of by telephone, if you win that is an end of it, if you lose you are obliged to pay the fine if non payment is received they then ask the court for a judgement against you ( you do not have to appear) then the baliffs get involved.
The point I have been trying to make is the incompetence of TDC saying they have received monies -which they have not- and yet the fine is less than the monies they say they have received.
Wriggler states its a error and the letters are automated and not read before posting that makes no sense.
Nelson of course many letters are automated but in this case (three different amounts of money three different letters hand delivered) has to be put in manually, don't they proof read what they put in? Obviously not
That may explain why TDC don't show as civil enforcement officers, an adjudicator probably won't have jurisdiction to make judgement on whether the ticket was lawfully issued.
Wow just think how much it has cost to produce those letters and hand deliver them, your £75 won't cover their costs,
Quick get on and pay the bill before us hard done taxpayers have to subsidise your criminal lifestyle any further Lol
