For info. Note that these new proposals will only apply to those newly eligible for their state pensions after April 2016 (suspect that will be wef  6th April as it is the beginning of a new financial year). Applies to men born after (6th?) April 1951 and women born after (6th?) April 1953.

It looks like these benefits will become means tested.. I agree that some people do not need the governments help but in all my life Ive paid for everything and now Im in my 60s and still need to work it seems Im going to be penalised again, I need regular meds and always prepayed until I reached 60 and thought at last a bit of benefit, seems Im going to lose that now. I dont use my bus pass as I drive and have always thought it would be better to have a discount card as opposed to free travel, the fuel allowance is a bit of an abnommaly as Im sure their are many single working parents that struggle to keep up with fuel payments as well. I would like to see the Gov pay the energy companys direct to give all eligible people discounted fuel based on usage, as for getting it whilst living abroad I think that should be removed.
