I've been asked by a couple who visit Dawlish quite often if I know of any dogs they could take for walks when they stay down here.

They have in mind dogs in rescue shelters/kennels that are presently looking for permanent homes.

Can anyone advise where the nearest dog rescue kennels are to Dawlish please.

The couple are dog lovers who sadly lost their four legged friend a couple of years back but who are not in the position at the moment to be able to adopt one full-time. They would, however, really really love to be able to take a 'looking for a permanent home' dog/dogs out for walks when they are here.

Thanks

Hi Lynne.  I used to walk dogs at Little Valley in Exeter.  That's the nearest one I'm aware of.

Hi Lynne,

I know this isn't what you were really asking for, but here goes anyway,

We are moving to Dawlish (hopefully) in August and we have a welsh border collie (9 months old) we will have difficulty walking him on a Saturday so if they wanted to walk him it would be a great help to us. He wouldn't mind going for an extra walk any other time either.

We have trained him so he is pretty good on the lead and very good off the lead, non aggressive and very attentive and playful.

At present (due to age) 8 miles or 2 hours is all he is allowed twice a day. So it's a little restrictive but as he gets older he'll be able to go further.

#Thanks for that Andy, I'll pass that on to them.
