Dawlish Discussion

I visit Dawlish frequently and I really do like it, I can always find something to do ,plenty of decent places to eat and lots ofdecent pubs serving real ale. I only have one complaint , I assumed last time it was a one-off but there it was this visit too.

Arriving by train and leaving the station the first thing that greets visitors is the apalling smell of "old and well used" chip pan oil/fat from Baileys. It is quite nauseating and they seem to make no attempt to do anything about it, the same smell was there for three days. I can't believe they can get away with this,apart from the smell it must taint the food they sell ( which I haven't tried). Where is the environmental health or the tourism people or do they all have colds and blocked noses?

Did you go into Baileys and ask them?  Or did you phone up the bodies you mentioned? 

I don't take a phone on holiday, but I've written to both bodies on my return. Not just about Baileys but also about some of the good things I saw and experienced around the town.

I didn't appproach Baileys staff  to tell them about the smell, as they are working in it I'm sure they are quite aware of it.
