Just a little warning about the new strategy being employed by EDF Energy if you happen to owe them money and you don't have a direct debit or other way they can attempt to rob you.

They are now sending two company uniformed, trained monkeys around in a marked van. These really intelligent people stand on your doorstep and demand you to pay them, they are well armed with a mobile credit card machine, a pen and a clip board.

If you don't possess a Rotweiller or similar to set on them just shout through the letter box politely telling them to "F" off as they are likely to be trespassing and can be privately sued for harassment.

The minimum requirement for them to even be on your land accept in an emergency is a county court warrant. In addition just remember your rights if there are young children or elderly people in the household then it is unlikely the court will allow them to cut you off, so don't get upset or worried should these company morons pay you a visit.

In addition remember this is a French owned company holding British tax payers to ransom with their extortionate prices for which should be a legally public owned utility service under national ownership. It is possible the other player in this market German owned E-ON will follow suit. "Tell me again who won the world wars"
