Just come back from the railway station (9.45am). The sea is doing its high tide, high wind thing again and splashing up and over the railway line.
Spectacular to watch but is it safe to travel?

Lynne. If the sea comes over the down line(towards Plymouth), then they are switched to the up line(towards Exeter St.Davids).Just before Teignmouth, down line trains switch over to their usual railway line.Does not happen often though. And It Is safe to travel.
Lynne - don't stand in front of the door when it arrives back at Dawlish station. I made this mistake once when the sea was rough & as the door opened a huge wave came over & drenched me & several others from head to toe!
