Can we have Dawlish obituaries list posted here regularly?

On my infrequent trips through Dawlish, I like to walk throught the graveyard near the Fire Station to see who has snuffed it.

Fortunately everyone is interred in chronological order.

Last time I saw that Don Landais was a gonner - 75 years old mind you. So a good innings.

Any chance we could have obits posted here, so that I could pursue my morbid hobby much easier?

Would like to do this, but I might be in breach of copyright as the website 'finalfiler.com' already caters for this hobby. Although, I think it may now be a software site. Have to look into this....

The Finalfiler is a software site.

Doesn't need to be anything fancy here. Just someone posting a list of names every week. Perhaps from the local paper.

OK. I know this is going nowhere, but:

Do you mean someone from the local paper doing it or someone reading the local paper and typing it in?

It would be nice to get the local paper to run the whole website then I wouldn't need to do much, not that I do much anyway!

Passed away this week are:-

A .......
b .....
c ....
d ...........
e .........

- as brief as that would suffice.

On a different note, why do you need to post under different names? I haven't looked at the site log for a while, but I'm wondering whether you are also answering to your own posts? If you are and you don't realise it I will let you know as you may need to get checked out for 'multiple personality disorder'. ;)

Not aware that i've responded to any of my own posts. If you prefer me to use fixed handle, I am happy to do that .

No, thats OK. I've had a complaint that the 'discussion has gone a bit silly' so I'm probably overreacting.

However, its not someone that contributes to the discussion. At least some people are interested enough to post here.

You are not over reacting at all...could you have a clean sweep and clear all old messages?

See the first Monty post of the day ! What a shame. Hope you will do something or I wonder what the future of this forum is.

How about

1) a future where nobody posts.

i.e exactly like the past.

or

2) a future where people are only permitted to say
....'oooerrr, I don't like change, lets keep things as they are. Change is anathema to my vestigial reptilian aft-brain'

Fixed handles are a possible idea - but I should think right now the webmaster is just chuffed that for the first time his board has caught fire and is occupied with people with an IQ of more than zero-point-five.
