The Windows anti virus scam seems to have died, in my case anyway. Now there is another. A few weeks ago I received a telephone call - once again an Asian voice - asking which gas/electricity company I was using and would I like to save some money, he reeled off a list of all the major companies and asked if I used one of them, I told him no and gave him a name I did not use.

Today another call stating the name of the company I had given previously, and told they could save me money, thats as far as I let him get before hanging up..

When you say windows scam is that the 1 where they ring you up about your computer picking up malware, I told them Id reported them to the Police and what they were doing was fraud, heard nomore. I wonder if I will get the other call

Roberta, Yes thats the one re Windows, with me they said it was a problem with my laptop - I dont have a laptop, I also asked them what operating sysem was I using, they said Windows XP, Wrong again.
