Police are urging drivers not to leave anything inside their vehicles after a significant spike in auto-crime. Insp Chris Shaw said "The problem has been exacerbrated by members of the plubic leaving vehicles unlocked and leaving valuable items on display in their vehicles overnight" He went on to say "You need to remember to lock your vehicles at night even if on your drives and ensure nothing of value is left in your vehicle"
This time last year vehicle crime across Teignmouth and Dawlish went down by 45 per cent. This year it has increased by 125 per cent since April 1st. There have been 37 thefts from vehicles in the last four weeks.
