Are gatehouse and westcliff school pretty much the same or is one better than the other??

I would say that Gatehouse wins hands down my three have all gone there always been happy and have done well

Gatehouse is a great school, my little one started there last September and they have been brilliant. Would definately recommend Gatehouse :-)

Ofsted grade them about the same.

My child went to Gatehouse and did well there. Different head and deputy head then. Since the current leadership have been appointed lots of staff have left. Read into that what you will but personally having met one of the most senior staff there I would want to visit both schools before applying.

I didn't that member of staff at all.

My daughter did very well at Gatehouse but there have been all sorts of problems with teachers with my son. I've had to resort to extra tuition because there seems to be a real problem with maths and I'm by no means the only one. Two years of mixed age classes didn't help.

They've now stopped mixed age classes so the problem could be fixed but as Ducki said there has been a mass exodus of teachers.

I would be inclined to ask to view both schools and make your mind up.
