So at last "sir" Fred Goodwin is just plain Fred now!!!!
Dawlish Discussion
Stripped of Knighthood
Ok so what about the rest of the paracites? Clean out the House of Lords for starters then move on the House of Commons which has 635 Honourable members....23 have been accused of spouse abuse....7 arrested for fraud....9 accused of writing bad cheques...17 have directly or indirectly bankrupt 2 businesses...3 have served time for assault...71 cannot get a credit card...14 have been arrested on drug releted charges...8 arrested for shoplifting...21 currently defenders in law suits.....54 arrested for drink driving in the last year...and one under investigation for trying to get his wife to take his penalty points. Collectively this year alone they have cost the tax payer £92,993,748 in expenses......Oh yes and they run the country.
But a plain Fred with £700 000 per annum pension. Do you think he really cares?? Remember the Labour Party could have halved that pension when he resigned but they refused to do so, now the Tories remove his 'Sir', because he 'brought the Honours sytem into disrepute' what a joke.
Jeffery Archer went to Prison for Perjury but kept his title, clearly being a criminal doesn't 'bring the Honours system into disrepute'.
Not a fact at all. A regurgitated lie that started as a viral email in the USA years ago.
As 5 minutes searching the net finds, this started in the USA in 1999. Try pasting this link: http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/congress.asp
Yep, that info has been applied to almost every Govt in the World with slightly altered figures, always worth doing a google about these 'facts', and many other Urban Legends, most of these have been around for years and get as Nelson says, regurgitated every few years and presented as fact.
It is as ludicrous to strip him of a knighthood now as it is to give honours to press magnates, bankers and the like in the first place. You can't whinge if you tie a riband round a crocodile's neck and it still eats you.
