Well said Mark!

Although you have said people are more than welcome to come and see you to discuss issues -they never will! People who complain on this site never actually confront anyone - just hide behind anonymity of message boards!

Dear Sir

We were closed over the Christmas and New Year period for our holidays -(notices were clearly displayed in the windows)

Our winter hours are as stated - mainly because their are so few customers after 10pm (on a monday) and after 11pm the balance of the week. Note our hours remain the same on fridays and saterdays as in summer, closing at 2am.Be assured that in summer we shall once again extend our hours to midnight during the week.

I am sure that you have noticed many businesses in Dawlish reduce their working hours in winter , while some shut down completly

We never close earlier than our advertised hours , no matter how quite it is - although i am often tempted to do so.

You are quite corect in saying that it would be profitable for me to be open on a Sunday . However my wife and I have two children - and this is the only time that we can spend together as a family.

I trust the above explanation has been helpfull

best regards

Mark Palos

in view of the opening times at palos pizza i am in favour of reasonable closing times due to the arseholes who hang around after the pubs are closed looking for a fight outside what used to be shariffs to impress their girlfriends try living close to this establishment with the moronic behaviour of teenagers vommiting their 3 pints of beer outside our houses and hurling abuse at each other the ferret and british legion used to be blamed when shariff had it but as the above dictates its the late opening times that causes this trouble hovever i do sympathise with mr palos as he is only trying to make a living for his family indeed i do support his buisness and buy regular from him we cant all be like shariff who used to stay open all hours of the night in fact he would patrol the streets all hours of the night hoping to find someone that might need a pizza yea he was a ok kinda guy but tight as a fishes arse and greedy tw*t i am in support of reasonable opening times and wish mr palos and his family all the best for his buisness in the future

i agree with mr frosty view on later closing at pizza palos i think 12midnight is a reasonable time to close his shop because of the disturbance outside our homes near by and yes the 3 pint boys strutting around shouting and bawking drives me nuts hey guys just get youre pizza or whatever and go home for gods sake mind you sunday should close 10pm due to the 3 pint boys getting up for school next morning

I'm really puzzled by these mails - pizza is just about the easiest thing to cook, and contains very little oil, so why are they greasy? The reason it's one of the favourite dishes in Italy is that it's so easy and cheap to do. I regularly turn out half a dozen large ones when the family come round, and that's in a domestic oven. Happy to let Mr Palos have some tips, if he needs them - he sounds a really nice man...

Pizza Palos is a clean and tidy place. Which is more than I can say for the place before it was taken over. As an engineer working in sharifs old kitchen was a major health hazard! THe new guys are very polite and work very hard and long hours. They also have children and need to get some quality family time. As you are quite obviously unable to cook for yourself, I would hazard a guess that you probably spend most of your time between work and a pub. I suggest before you start running down others, you take a closer look at your completely inadequate assistance.

I would like to say that the Palos family are very welcome here, and have well integrated in our community, not only by sourcing their ingredients locally where possibly, but by providing an excellent service despite the undeserved critism and abuse from drunken tossers that they really don't deserve.

I would suggest that most of these critical posts are from competitors or friends/regulars of competitors... so not worth listening too really!

I have to disagree with you on this one. We have had Pizza and Kebabs on various occasions, and the food is always spot on!!!! The staff are always very pleasant and helpful, maybe they were just having a bad day!
Its also nice to go into a nice clean hygenic takeaway for a change. Keep up the good work!

I'm also going to add my 10 cents worth here. Pizza Palos is probably the best takeaway in Dawlish. Both he and the Mrs are very friendly, do unto others as thy will be done, if you go in there being rude and probably drunk then don't expect a gr8 welcome, nobody likes a tosser! Best pizza in Dawlish, bit greasy but tasty, definately best chips anywhere in Dawlish, Kebabs aren't too bad either. If you can honestly say you would rather eat from Baileys (grubby filthy dirty) or Chicoland YUK YUK YUK then maybe the problem lies with you and not hard working honest people like the Palos'.

Went to Baileys once, the lump of chips caked in oil were disgusting and I won't mention the basic food hygiene rules that were openly flouted!

Chicoland gave me a really dodgy tummy, and the previous people running it had a vermin problem out the back - environmental health were involved, don't know what it's like now though.
