I'd like to take the opportunity to publicly congratulate the proprietors of the Strand Cafe for the excellent work they've done to pull the place up by the bootstraps, since they took the place over. It's great to see businesses like this go the extra mile and make the effort to open when other establishments fail to do so. Quality food, quality surroundings, quality service. Well done to all concerned.

Yes, I totally agree with you Nelson - a great improvement. The new owner(s) are to be congratulated. I particularly like the fact that they provide copies of Private Eye for their customers to read.

have to agree with you both. whilst others were closed over the festive and new year period they were heaving due to the number of tourists and families visiting relatives . I guess they took more money over the week than most places would take in a month in january and feb
