A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was being treated in hospital after stabbing himself in the stomach in front of 20 other pupils. Students and staff at Dawlish Community College were left in shock and 'traumatised' following the incident, which left the youngster needing emergency surgery to remove the four inch kitchen knife.
The schoolboy, who has not been named, was rushed to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital's emergency department where his condition was last night described as 'stable and conscious'.
It is thought the boy brought the kitchen knife into the tutor room, just before 9am registration, where he inflicted the wound on himself.
