Thought I'd post this - as a reminder to us all.

Although Dawlish.com does not and cannot review each and every message that is posted and is not responsible for the content of any of these messages, we reserve the right to delete any message for any reason whatsoever. Messages are typically deleted as a result of the following:
 

• Profanity in subject lines or signatures, or profanity within messages deemed to be blatant as opposed to incidental.
• Spamming or commercial solicitation.
• Flaming other members with the apparent intent of inciting or perpetuating a conflict or argument.
• Bombing the forum or individual threads with repetitive, pointless posts.
• Posting personal e-mail or chat dialogues.
• Posting pornographic or otherwise objectionable material.
• Impersonating other individuals or false representation.
• Discussion of illegal activity, or posting links to other websites that deal with such activities.
• Posts which are completely unrelated to the thread in which they are posted.
• Posts which breach another member's privacy, i.e. containing phone numbers, addresses or other personal information.
• Copyright violations.

Acceptable Forum Use
You agree, through your use of the forum, that you will not post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.
 

What is your problem?

item 4 on the list above Lynne also if you think that I or Rainbow1 is guilty of a breach of these rules send a message to the webmaster to investigate, this forum is not what it used to be its lost its way and become too serious

Come on guys, lets not let this forum degenerate into an abusive slanging match like has happened in the past. We all know what eventually happens is no-one ends up posting at all.

Users can post on what ever subject they feel is relevant here and we must respect others views even when we do not agree with them.

So lets just agree to differ when this happens and move on.

I think if Rainbow1 genuinely suffers from dyslexia then perhaps we could help her in some way like her hubby is doing (as she claims in her posts)?

Its not dyslexia it just so called slang. i agree with Lynne...

I wasn't saying I disagree with Lynne - quite the opposite. I am unsure about slang. Everyone uses slang now and then. Rainbow1's use is excessive and is closer to shorthand notation. I agree it does not read easy.

So which of these 'rules' has Rainbow1 transgressed??? Surely we have better things to discuss than whether a poster uses too much slang or can't spell. One lecturer I knew used to write the most apalling bad English on the blackboard and when I challenged him that he did know better he simply said, "The purpose of language is to communicate, do you understand what it means?" and when I said I did understand what he had written then he simply told me he had no intention of changing it.

Blimey whats up with some of you lot. Rainbow may be hard to understand but ive not spotted anything wrong in his/her posts. Get a life some of you.

I think its because Lynne takes life too serious, and cant see the subtle humour in some of our posts, I think I will do the same as Rainbow and stick to FB

Well, as far as I am concerned - inaccurate, abusive, hateful - are but three adjectives that I could use to describe some of Rainbow1's posts and I don't only have the ones that s/he has aimed at me in mind.

As a parent and teacher of children with Dyslexia,

I just wanted to say that DYSLEXICS do not write like that and for those people who are genuinely DYSLEXIC they most certainly would not be able to read, let alone make sense of those posts!

Maybe as people these days seem to find it difficult to be decent to each other and so many negative posts about Dawlish...not to mention the silly ones.

I feel there is some mileage in the discussion board being removed and leave just the other sections in place ..where the Webmaster can put 'whats on' , uselful information etc.

At least then people dont see the place in such a bad light...and leave all the chat 'stuff' to Facebook.

On our local forum the last entry on the discussion board was 2009

and now its been removed - result, a few people update the info

look after the links and other than that NO INTEREST. please dont

let that happen here, this is one of the few ways that people not

fortunate enough to live in Dawlish can keep in touch. Thanks in

The way this discussion forum is structured it's much easier to keep track of a thread than it is on Facebook. People frequently revisit a subject long after the thread has gone 'cold' and revitalise it, as happened with this one. You wouldn't do that on Facebook. Please don't remove this forum.
