Hi all,
I am a current University of Portsmouth undergraduate studying Geography. I am presently working on my dissertation about coastal management, specifically at Dawlish Warren sand spit.
My study is looking at the coastal management options at this location and what stakeholders (interested parties) think of them.
I would be grateful for any suggestions on people, parites, groups etc that may have interest in the issue of defending this stretch of coastline that I could contact and possibly interview.
Thankyou for your help.
Hi obeav1
Try Dawlish Warren Tourism http://www.dawlishwarren.info/contact-us/
they should be able to help.
Plus why not try googling DARE for the Environment of Dawlish, Dawlish Town Council and Teignbridge District Council. You should be able to find e-mail addresses for all three and I am sure there are people in DARE, the town council, and the district council who may be able to help you/give you more contacts.
Good luck with your dissertation.
I think the Warren is covered by Teignbridge's Coastal Preservation Area so you could try Teignbridge.gov.uk to find out how that works in their strategy. I think it's also an SSI already so presumably there's an existing management plan for that. Hope that helps. Neil
I wasn't suggesting that our enquirer from Portsmouth look on the DARE 'latest news' page. I was suggesting that s/he contact them.
Not sure Rainbow1 how your posting is relevant to the question posed by obeav1.
