Have not been on here for at least six months. I gave up. I see its even worse now ..has turned into a kids board ..
What on earth is Dawlish School turning out? Brain dead kids or what. .. but I see you can still manage to lift a pint glass lol.(see Carnival) What would Dawlish do without pubs .. they are even busy at 4pm .. not to mention the Legion !
You can always judge a town by its pubs.
See you in six minths.
You are right! This forum has gone from serious to vulgar and now to silly. But I have enjoyed reading the posts!
Having said that, I don't understand why local people don't use it to express their views? Someone in Dawlish must have an opinion on something they would like to share with other Dawlish residents?
This is the first time I've posted, so I guess, maybe people don't?
I have suggested so may times that all postings should go via the Webmaster, as with Yahoo groups. If this was the policy you would get people posting, you can't really expect people to as it is now.
Perhaps someone could start a sensible Dawlish discussion board on another website.
After giving up I'm back, and well these Boards have lost there meaning, time for some kind of registration and rules, as I find it shameful that half the post on here are law binding and spikeful post.
I find it really remarkable that a few individuals nitpick relentlessly about this website and possibly other websites, but they still continue to use it. Perhaps they should start their own website where they can have their own Dawlish chat room and then they will be the Webmaster and all the postings can go via themselves, then they can have a sensible Dawlish discussion forum, and I still think they will view this one!
If I had a matter that I wanted to confer I would have no hesitation to post it onto this website. I am local and like to view the discussion forum, guest book and notice board a few times a week. Yes, I agree that some of the postings are juvenile but if it’s a ridiculous topic then you can just ignore it and move on.
This website is not just about the discussion forum. There are radiant photos of Dawlish and a fascinating history topic on Dawlish. It shows an exciting nature Reserve at Dawlish Warren and it is a great guide to Dawlish.
Clearly some kind of quality control is needed.
Not censorship, but just weeding out the ...
"sgispghspoig - yaroosh, yog yog," ..i.e the illiterate stuff.
It is important to focus on the real issues.
1) Dog pooh.
2) Over-sexed old age pensioners.
3) Corruption in the town council.
4) The scarcity of charity shops.
