Devon thrashed Dorset 9-1 in their latest South & West Counties Championship Group B game at Budleigh Salterton.Plymouth Argyle's Sam Blake scored five of the goals.

After a couple of early scares, Devon were 3-0 up inside 15 minutes, with all the goals coming from Ellis Glanfield's corners. Carmen Thornton headed home the first, Blake got the second and Cullompton Rangers' Jess Hooper side footed past Dorset keeper Natasha Haysom for the third.

On the stroke of half-time Blake, who was brought down in the area, scored from the penalty spot. She completed her hat-trick early in the second half and seven minutes later Hooper netted her second from a Glanfield cross to put Devon 6-1 up.

Dorset had their chances, but Devon increased their lead on 66 minutes when Blake scored her fourth from a Hooper pass.

Three minutes later Plymouth's Chloe Bassett broke through to score Devon's eighth. With five minutes remaining a Siobhan Cockram (Dawlish Town) shot was only partially saved by the Dorset keeper and Blake pounced to score her fifth and Devon's ninth.
