Members of the Territorial Army have been honoured for their commitment to the Reserve Forces at a ceremony at Powderham Castle.Staff Sergeant Sandra Eve, from Chudleigh Knighton, received the HM Lord Lieutenant's Certificate of Commendation, presented by HM Lord Lieutenant for Devon Eric Dancer.
She joined the TA in 1992 as a musician. She was deployed to Bosnia in 2002 and was later awarded the Volunteer Reserve Medal.
Others to receive the Lord Lieutenant's certificate included Alison Meredith, a 53-year-old dental receptionist from Exeter, Colour Sergeant Colin Jefferson Rose, aged 51, from Exmouth who spent 24 years in the Royal Marines before becoming a School Staff Instructor, and Michael Loveless, aged 61, a retired policeman from Exeter who volunteered at 2401 (Dawlish) Squadron Air Training Corps when his son joined as an air cadet in 1985.
