Webmaster, Why is it that when I sign into ie; Herald Express with my email and a different password and leave a comment it puts my Dawlish.com password as the writer, is it because this site is part of the local newspaper company?????
Dawlish Discussion
Good question. Be wary though of leaving too much information when registering on other sites, if you wish to remain anonymous. Its amazing what a 30 second Google search can result in. ;-)
User 4549, this is most likely due to the way your browser is remembering bits of data you are typing into text boxes. However, it is unusual for any browser to pick up a password from one site and use it on another site especially if it results in the browser revealing the password.
I can confirm though that Dawlish.com is an independently owned site and not part of any newspaper company.
Webmaster, This has only just happened since the local papers set up their new web site.
A friend who now uses a MAC and has done for two years, the web picks one of his old passwords from the old PC which is not connected or used.
Perhaps somebody on the site could try and leave a comment on one of the newpapers and see if they get the same result.
Then perhaps you can change my password
Hi User 4549,
Just signed up with that site under the username 'dawlishdotcom' and posted a comment.
Although I can see what you mean from your earlier posts, the only thing I can think of is that you chose that as the username when you signed up with them.
It is probably best to change your dawlish.com password ASAP. You can do this here:
Webmaster, The link you sent does not allow me to change my password, or am I missing something.
Thank goodness for that. I dread to think what might have happened had someone followed the very obvious trail and had logged in as you...
