Chris Myers reckons Dawlish Town may have turned a corner by staying focused for the full 90 minutes to defeat Street 3-1 in the Western league Premier Division on Tuesday night. The Seasiders broke the deadlock early on as they extended their unbeaten run to four games.
In two of the three previous matches of that run - a 3-3 draw away to Barnstaple and last weekend's 1-1 home draw with Chard - Dawlish were the first to concede.
But they righted that particular wrong against Street.
"I was really pleased with the performance. The lads worked really hard and we certainly deserved the win," Myers said. "Coming into the Street game they knew they had let themselves down a little bit by not being fully focused for 90 minutes - we had been a bit of a 45-minute team in the last few games. But we got our noses in front against Street and didn't let it slip, so I think we have gone some way to rectifying that now."
