05/04/11 - Residents in a Teignbridge town will soon be given more powers to decide what types of developments should take place in their area. Dawlish has been chosen as one of 17 area's to pilot the coalition government's new planning powers through the Neighbourhood Developent Order and will be given £20,000 from a one million pound fund towards developing its plan. People in Dawlish will be able to choose which developments should be given automatic planning permission and can have their say on things like the location of shops and offices or the standards of design for new housing.
