Does anyone know anything about the affordable hosuing that is going to be built along with the new Sainsburys? Eg. the number of affordable homes and in particular how they will be affordable?

Think you may have been dreaming about this one.

Barratts have permission to build 61 new homes, but they are only affordable if you can actually afford to buy one.

Its ironic really but if the banks and building societies had applied this simple rule of affordability instead of trying to be clever stitching up people with mortgages they have no way of repaying the country may not be in the state it is.

We seem to be living in a country where an entire generation think that everything should be handed to them on a plate including flats and houses. They don't go into a Supermarket and ask where the affordable fags, booze and mobile phones are do they?

I probably misheard then. There has been talk about it on here and I was wondering if anything had been earmarked as part of the planning.

Not interested in buying myself. I am interested in schemes that are in place to waste or abuse tax payers money. For example, the First Time Buyers scheme is a complete abuse of tax payers money in that the sole purpose is to try to prop up a deflating and still over-inflated UK property market.
