Im sure i'm not the only one who have noticed the disgusting state of the area around the toilets at the Sandy Lane coach station.

There is obviously a leak from the toilets running down the outside wall leaving the wall badly stained. Also the smell is bad and the rubbish is collecting around that area as there never seems to be anyone clearing up.

Now the council have chosen to get rid of the two brothers who used to look after the Park etc. it is deteriorating rapidly. You see a contract worker arrive and pick up whats under their nose but thats about all. The grass verges along the Exeter Road seem to be the new parking zone! The only plus side the council will save on grass cutters wages.

Maybe when and if we go back to having our own Dawlish Council things will go back to being a well kept town.

I wait with great anticipation!

Have you reported this to either Dawlish Town Council or Teignbridge District Council?

Don't understand what you mean by going "back to having our own Dawlish Council". We already have it, don't we?

Yes Lynne i have spoken to Teignbridge Council on many occasions. The parking on the grass verges along the Exeter Road was sorted for a while when the traffic warden was sent to put tickets on cars.

As for going back to having our own council what i ment was a local council with more power and not have everything deceided by Teignbridge Council.

I wonder if some publicity via our local press might help highlight the issue(s) and get some action taken?

Why not try contacting the Dawlish Gazette - ncanham@tindlenews.co.uk

Also, of course, we have local elections for both the town and district council in May and nothing compares to an impending election for getting politicians to take an interest and get things done.

I'd say that now was very definitely the time to make a fuss!
