So, a couple of Dykes have called for a boycott of the pub because the landlord told them off for kissing in the bar.
Well done to John Grindrod for standing up against it. It would make me more inclined to use the pub instead of boycotting it.
Its a shame that more people dont stand up against such immoral acts.

I agree!!!!! Im not homophobic but we are made out as such if we do not embrace the gay culture wholeheartedly, I had to put my sexuallity on an application form recently and felt affronted by this, and put straight. Also Im fed up with it being rammed down my throat on tv
There are many couples that I would not want to see snogging at the bar. These include gay men, dykes, pensioners and my parents. I am sure you can think of others.
A kiss or peck on the cheek is OK though as long as it doesn't involve tongues.
How do you know about a call to boycott the pub? Is there an article you could point us to.
You obviously DONT read the local papers then.
May I suggest that you do in future, so as to save you further embarrasment in asking a question when there is no need to thus showing your lack of local knowledge.

The barman banned him for a week as he thought he wanted to have a beer and then some fun with the black sheep out back, Aussies just don't know their real ale!!!
Why is it wrong, it's no different to a man and woman having a snog? We have to embace all cultures, people and differences, not behave likes it's the 50's. I for one do not have an issue with it, infact I've seen some beauties who are gay, check out Lucie on Deal or No Deal this week, she was stunning and I would welcome the chance to see her in an embrace.

Interesting thread. I am always intrigued by people who start, "I'm not ....... but," as does PJD and also with SteveJ's comment about pensioners. Should older people be asked to carry ID cards in pubs showing their age?
I have neither more nor less problem with gay people kissing in pubs (or in public) than anyone else.
@Dave - Magic Ashes series and I have been able to watch on TV in daytime in Auckland. Incidentally, I know an English lady whose name was Sheila and who changed it to Louise when she moved to Oz.
Oh well the posting has been good publicity for the pub...ill wind and all that!
