Dawlish junior Anna Kingman and 13-year-old Jake Grinsill from Torquay beat seeded rivals at the South Hams Junior Novices at Totnes to go on and book their place in today's final line-up at Borough Park. Twelve months after suffering a first round defeat in the girls' singles following a two-hour marathon with Charlotte Jago (Dawlish), Anna Kingman has made a spectacular return. In the quarter-finals she beat top seed Jessica Bull (Middx) 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 and then defeated former club-mate Lucy Vallance (Torquay) 6-2, 6-3 to reach the final. In the boys' 14 and under singles, Jake Grinsill, winner of the 2004 Teignmouth Open at the Mark Syms Tennis Academy, came back from a set down to beat John Ellmer, the No 2 seed from Ugborough, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1. In the quarter-finals, Grinsill beat Torquay club-mate Josh Rees 6-0, 6-1.
