Ipplepen made a piece of unwanted history against Dawlish when they were bowled out for 19 and lost by a whopping 177 runs. It was the third lowest score ever recorded in the division. Only the now defunct Teignbridge (18 in 1983) and Victioria Park (15 in 1994 at Chelston) have been bowled out for lower scores. Andy Lockyer (42), Jon May (31) and Bill Alcock (30) were Dawlish's men in the runs as Dawlish totalled 196 all out. Jamie Day (5-14), John Laister (3-2) and Matt Phillips (2-30 then bowled Ipplepen out. "I wish we could blame the pitch, but we can't," said Pens';' skipper Alan Boon. "If you deliberately tried to get out for 19 it couldn't be done - and I still don't know how we did it. "They bowled well and we had one or two lame dismissals among them. "No names, no pack drill, but one of ours was caught down at deep third man. Afterwards he said he thought the fielder down there was one of our guys walking around. "It was that sort of afternoon and best forgotten." Dawlish move up to third in the table in an all-change top five which sees Plymouth Civil Service (138pts) on top after beating Exeter St James; Heathcoat (131) second after trouncing Totnes by nine wickets; Dawlish third on 130; St James (127) down from top to fourth and Whimple up to fifth after defeating Mount Wise.
