Plymouth Civil Service romped back to the top of the C Division with a crushing seven-wicket win at Stoke Gabriel. Heathcoat were top on Saturday morning, but their defeat by Dawlish & Teignmouth opened the door for Civil to take pole position. And Dawlish are up to second now with Exeter St James newly installed in third - they easily accounted for lowly Mount Wise by six wickets - with Heathcoat demoted down to fourth. Left-armer Dave Bayliss helped himself to five for 18 as Stoke were skittled out for 130 with five of their 46 overs to bowl. Skipper Andy Hawker provided the back-up bowling, finishing with three fr 20. Stoke were 70 for one at one stage, Adrian Thompson making 28, but only Rob Baker (19) reached double figures after that. Paul Maloney then biffed an unbeaten 68, sharing a stand of 105 with Alan Smth (34no) as Civil won at a canter to fuel hopes of a return to the B Division sooner rather than later. Dawlish & Teignmouth rattled along to 265 for eight at Heathcoat, which set them up for a 117-run win over the deposed leaders.
