If Nigel Bliss's team do well in the national festival, they will get to play before the England-Barbarians game at the end of May.

The side have not been beaten since the final of the Devon under-10 festival, when Devonport Services edged past them.

Their dominance has seen them score 486 points so far this season and concede only 19, a remarkable achievement at any level.

A squad of 20 were heading to the festival under the control of Bliss and coaches Gerrard Webster and Simon Banks. The trip has been part funded by the support of local firms B &M Techniques, GJ Bawden Haulage, WG Underhill Tippers and Brooking Sweeper Hire.

The Chiefs' under-13s were far too strong for their hosts Topsham on Sunday, winning 58-0. Skipper George Wheatley, Harry Symes, Mike Draper, Dan Morris, Lewis Townsend and Dan Bradford scored tries.

The Chiefs' under-10 side played their final fixture of the season, also against Topsham where they also faced Clifton.

Both games were very close and hard fought. The Chiefs lost to a try in the closing seconds to Clifton, going down 20-15 with tries for Matthew Lewis and Joe Daniels (2).

They won the game against Topsham 25-20 - this time scoring in the last minute for victory. Try scorers were Lewis (3) and Daniels (2).

Exmouth beat Exeter Saracens 56-10 in their final Landscape Company under-16 league game to qualify for the cup play-offs.

Sarries took the lead early on from a Luke Pearce penalty but Exmouth hit back with a converted try.

Back came Saracens with a try after a quick tap penalty was put wide for No. 8 Chris Canning to go over, with Pearce again adding the extras.

The Cockles crossed twice more before the break but Sarries were still in with a shout.

After half-time, Sarries lost their discipline for a time which gave the visitors some easy points and a comfort zone to play in. To their credit, Exmouth took full advantage of this and started to move the ball around well, racking up the scores as they wore Sarries down.

Exmouth are vying with Sidmouth and Okehampton to win the final at Crediton on April 22.

Exmouth's under-11s won 33-0 at Teignmouth and, with one league game to go, are set to go a second season unbeaten.

Exmouth eased into the semi-finals of the Devon under-14 sevens championships before succumbing to Crediton 12-7.

Richard Bright led the way for the Cockles with 11 tries in the tournament and Terry Mears had six.

In the group stages, Exmouth beat Sidmouth 26-12, Exeter Chiefs 45-0, Torquay B 26-7, Kingsbridge 35-7 and Torquay A 12-0.
