Can all the people who have ever been in STOKES of dawlish, post there coments on this site, because after the petition of over eight hundred people signing we still need to get the support and try and stop the company moving the manager who has worked his ar*e off for STOKES and is so well liked by all the customers. And his reward for over ten hard years of loyal service, and with the help of his team at the store, is one of the best stores in the the company, but they want to shift him to totnes, but due to personal reasons it is important that he is close to home, thanks for reading.SAME OUR STEVE

I signe the petition but will happily post here. Steve is always there at 6 in the morning getting the shop ready with a cheerful smile and a good morning.Nothing is to much trouble for him and very rarely is he miserable or rude to anyone, although I have heard the way some people have spoke to him. The shop is always well stocked and presentable with a wide variety. STEVE is Mr. Stokes of Dawlish and he lives local and knows the people, we do not want somebody from outside the town, leave him alone.

Although I didnt want to Steve go as hes worked so hard over the years I have to say that the new manager has made a hugh impression on the store. It looks full all day and quality has improved. If people actually gave this man a chance I believe the store can only get better. New manager(sorry I dont know your name) I did sign the petition but will carry on to support your efforts in the store.

I agree. Although I think you're probably related to the new manager, I reckon under the new manager Stokes will be as good as it ever was. However the reason for the petition was about more than that...

Popped in to check it out last week and was very impressed with the increase in local produce. Tomatoes no longer flown from Africa. a vast improvement.

Firstly i would like to make it very clear,to all the people who have written commets on the above subject, the items sold within any of the stokes stores are supplied from there head office and the manager has know say in what is sold,as this company are only interested in price. The fact there may be local goods in the store is only the cost in any thing at all.Steve worked his A#SE OFF FOR THIS COMPANY and has been sh#t on from a great hieght,i worked very close with steve sorting out the maintenance and the safety of the public with in the store, when you are next in the store take a look around you,and see what stokes thing about the public when doing your every day shopping.

I agree with everything you say mastercueman, I know Steve very well and miss seeing him there, also Colin. I dont think the shop is any better than when Steve was there and do not like the new layout. The staff do not seem as happy as they were neither

Steve will be back tomorrow as Assistant Manager Hooray!!!! If you understood the circumstances with his wifes illness youd realise why this has been such an issue, and as a regular in there it no different,( Stokes have a policy) Manager has no choice in produce its what they want that counts

thought the range of flowers and plants was poor for mothers day. the display didnt look good either. think the shop could do with a change of personnal. i like steve as he's loyal to the job but looking at the shop it looks like it could do with a change.
