The 31-strong fleet, now ranking amoung the largest in the South West, had been a family run business for half a decade employing 50 staff. But after a casual conversation between Neil Tomlinson, the prior owner, and John Weaver, the new managing director, the business is now in new hands. Mr Weaver, a former employee, bought the business along with partner Gill Byers, the former accounts manager. Mr Weaver said he was proud to be taking on both the company and the reputation of Dawlish far and wide: 'We're bearing the name of this little town all over Europe'.
'We hope to continue to provide the superb level of service that Dawlish Coaches has done for so long. It's a priviledge to take over such a prestigious company as this'.
Mr Weaver will be continuing the tradition of family involvement as his three sons and wife all take up posts with the firm.
